After two years of operating our PlasmaSpot® Mini device, which was purchased from Molecular Plasma Group (MPG) and supported by Research Foundation Flanders – FWO medium-scale infrastructure funding, it was the time for an upgrade. The hardware and software of our plasma system were upgraded to the newest versions by MPG. Now, we are able to run our atmospheric plasma system in powers up to 1000 W to directly modify surfaces or deposit plasma-polymerized thin films, coatings, and bio-coatings using non-noble and noble gases. We were pleased to host Bernard Nisol from MPG for training four of our lab members at KU Leuven Department of Materials Engineering.
